Terms & Conditions
English version controls · Effective October 15, 2026
Welcome to Voxtakes! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are between you and the operators of voxtakes.com and app.voxtakes.com (“Voxtakes,” “we,” “us,” “our”). They govern your access to and use of our website and our AI video dubbing, translation, subtitle and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing credits, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and “you” includes that organization.
2. Your Account
- You must verify your email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activities carried out under your account.
- One person per account seat, except where your plan explicitly provides shared seats or workspaces.
- Do not create accounts by automated means, evade approval or usage limits, or resell raw access to the Service.
3. What You Own — and What We Do With It
You keep your content. Video, audio, text and other material you submit (“Input”) remain yours, to the extent you have rights in them. We take no ownership of Input.
Your outputs. Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of the applicable fees, we assign to you (to the extent we have rights to do so) all of our interest in the rendered dubbed videos, subtitles and related files we generate for you (“Output”). Paid plans include a commercial license to your Output; free or trial usage is granted for lawful use consistent with your plan description.
No model training on your content. We do not use your Input or Output to train shared models. To deliver the Service we transiently process content with machine-learning components — some self-hosted, some via third-party model providers bound by confidentiality (Section 8).
License to us. You give us a limited license to host, copy, transcode, analyze and render your Input solely as needed to provide the Service to you (for example, speech recognition, translation, voice cloning, quality scoring and subtitle rendering), and to store Output for retrieval until deletion per our retention schedule (Section 7 of these Terms and the Privacy Policy).
Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without obligation or compensation.
4. Beta Terms
- Approval for the open beta is at our discretion and may be granted, paused or withdrawn.
- Approved accounts receive trial credits as described on the site. Trial credits are not cash and have no monetary value.
- Beta features may change, disappear, or be re-priced; we will give reasonable notice before materially adverse changes to paying customers.
- We aim for high availability but do not commit to an uptime SLA during beta. Failed renders caused by our platform are re-run or credited back, at no cost to you.
5. Acceptable Use
You are responsible for what you upload and publish. You must have all rights, licenses and consents needed to submit your Input and to use the Output for your intended purpose. In particular, you must not:
- Rights violations: dub, translate or subtitle content you do not own or are not licensed or otherwise permitted to use (fair-use/fair-dealing judgments are yours to make, with counsel if needed).
- Voice cloning without consent: clone a voice that is not your own unless you have that person's explicit permission. Do not create, and do not use the Service to create, impersonations intended to deceive or mislead — including fake statements by real people, fraudulent endorsements, or content designed to look like an authentic recording of someone who never said it.
- Elections & public affairs: no content intended to influence an election, misrepresent a candidate's speech, or interfere with civic processes.
- Harmful content: no unlawful content, harassment, defamation, sexual exploitation or any content involving minors in a sexual manner, incitement to violence, or fraud/scam enablement (including romance, investment and phishing scams).
- Platform disclosure: where the platforms you publish on require you to disclose AI-generated or altered content (YouTube, TikTok, Meta and others all have such rules), that disclosure duty is yours; we may provide metadata about the dubbing on request.
- Service abuse: no probing, scanning, or attacking the Service; no circumventing credit limits, watermarks or plan restrictions; no reselling accounts.
We may refuse, interrupt or remove content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, and may suspend or terminate accounts accordingly (Section 12).
6. Credits, Pricing and Payment
- How we meter. Usage is measured in credit minutes: 1 credit = 1 minute of finished Output video, rounded up per job. Dubbing one video into three languages consumes roughly three times that video's duration. Subtitles-only jobs are discounted as advertised; optional add-ons (such as burned-in subtitle removal) are billed as advertised on the pricing page.
- Line edits. Re-recording individual lines is billed for the duration of the changed lines only. Re-dos triggered by our own failed quality-control checks are not billed.
- Credits don't expire. Credits granted through subscription plans and top-ups do not expire, subject to the current plan description. Credits are not cash, are not transferable outside your account, and are not redeemable for money except where required by law or as stated in Section 12.
- Payment. Purchases are processed by our merchant of record in USD; applicable taxes are calculated and collected at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically each billing cycle unless cancelled before renewal; you can cancel auto-renewal at any time in your account or by emailing us — you keep credits already granted, and the subscription simply runs down.
- Withdrawal right (EU/UK consumers). When you buy a subscription directly from us, EU/UK consumer law gives you a 14-day withdrawal right. By starting a paid render during that window you agree that performance begins immediately and you consent that the withdrawal right is lost for services already delivered; amounts paid for unused, undelivered portions remain refundable.
- Price changes. We may change prices; changes take effect no sooner than 30 days after notice (email for affected paid accounts). Existing purchased credits are unaffected.
7. Your Footage, Retention and Security
Input files and Output masters are stored in private object storage, encrypted at rest, reachable only through time-limited signed links under your account. Uploaded media is automatically deleted after 7 days by default (you may request a shorter or longer period on applicable plans). Download your bundle promptly. We maintain administrative, technical and organizational safeguards described in the Privacy Policy, but no method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
8. Third-Party Providers
We use infrastructure and model providers to run the pipeline — including cloud GPU rendering, translation/speech model APIs, hosting and email delivery. These providers process your content under confidentiality terms solely to deliver the Service to you. Our Privacy Policy lists the categories of these processors.
9. Intellectual Property Notices
The Service, including its software, design and the “Voxtakes” name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or software except the limited right to use the Service as intended. You may not reverse engineer the Service except to the extent such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- OUTPUT IS MACHINE-GENERATED. Translations, transcriptions, voice clones, timings and subtitle styling may contain errors. Quality scores are statistical estimates, not guarantees. You should review Output (the line-by-line review exists for this purpose) before publishing.
- We do not warrant that cloned voices are identical to any person's voice, or that any platform will accept, distribute, or monetize your Output.
- We do not control and do not warrant third-party services (e.g., source-video availability behind a URL).
Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, fraud, gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights).
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR CONTENT, EVEN IF FORESEEABLE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE FEES YOU PAID IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM AND (B) US$100. THESE LIMITS DO NOT APPLY TO LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, AND DO NOT AFFECT YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS AS A CONSUMER.
12. Suspension, Termination and Refunds
- You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (in-product or by email). Unused credits are non-refundable except as required by law or as stated below.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, become unlawful to serve, generate payment chargebacks, or pose a security/safety risk. Where practicable we give notice and a chance to fix minor issues first.
- If we terminate your paid account for convenience (not for cause), we refund the unused portion of the current billing period. If we shut the Service down generally, we refund unused purchased credits on a fair prorated basis announced in advance.
- Sections 3, 5–7, 9–16 survive termination.
13. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe content processed or produced via the Service infringes your rights, email [email protected] with: identification of the copyrighted work, the allegedly infringing material and where it is, your contact details, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement — under penalty of perjury — that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. Counter-notices follow the same channel.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes affecting paid accounts we email notice at least 30 days in advance; other changes are effective when posted with the updated date above. If you do not agree to a material change, you may cancel your subscription and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused period. Continued use after changes take effect means acceptance.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
Let's try to fix it first: contact [email protected] and give us 30 days to respond before escalating. If we can't resolve it informally: for business users, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA (excluding its conflict-of-laws rules), and disputes go to the state or federal courts in New York City, New York. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring claims there as permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief to protect intellectual property.
16. General
- Notices to you may be given by email or in-product notice. Assignment: you may not assign this agreement; we may, in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- Force majeure: neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control, provided the affected party gives notice and mitigates.
- Severability: if a clause is unenforceable, the rest stands and the clause is narrowed to the enforceable extent.
- Entire agreement & language: these Terms (plus the Privacy Policy at https://www.voxtakes.com/privacy) are the whole agreement for the Service. The English version controls; translated versions are for convenience.
